One of my greatest (and earliest) passions is Street Photography. The reason I photograph people is to make them realize how “perfectly imperfect” they are. To me, a small defect, an undesired feature, a tiny imperfection can make a person so interesting. That’s why I take pictures! To show the beauty they didn’t really catch, or to make the details they hate a little more lovable.
I remember that for years I just photographed homeless folk. Then I started with people smoking cigarettes (I have HUNDREDS of smoking people’s pictures). Then I got obsessed with people eating junk food (we all look so amusing while we eat). Then I started haunting wrinkled old human beings. Now I focus on exploring the relationship between people and their environment.
I really am infatuated with people’s imperfections.
In particular, these 10 people I shot have in some way transformed me forever. They have been in my camera, my computer, my portfolio, my prints, on my walls, they’ve been my screenshots, my reason to be proud of my work.
Wherever you are today, I hope you know how beautiful you are. Thank you for crossing paths with me and filling me up with beauty.
