Quoted from the New York Times within the “5 places to be in 2018”, Seehof Nature Retreat, family hotel located just a few minutes from Bressanone in South Tyrol (Italy), is the perfect place to unplug from stress and be yourself, even just for a few days.
Characterized by a puristic, eclectic, almost Mediterranean style, Seehof is not your typical alpine hotel, but much, much more.
It’s the perfect place for independent, autonomous, creative women who do not like to show off too much (like me :).
The lake and the hotel structure
What to do at Seehof? Absolutely nothing. Breath, relax, or just simply BE.
The architecture is perfectly integrated into the territory and doesn’t steal the attention from the natural landscape. The skillful intervention of the Landscaper, which conceived it on the model of the Belgian gardens, it’s evident.
The hotel overlooks a small lake framed by a pine forest, a spa and Seehof swimming pool.
La pineta
I have to mention it right away because I got very emotional about it: the pine forest, located right in front of the hotel, is magical, silent and will enchant you as it enchanted me.
It has always been my dream to photograph the pines with a wide angle and I finally I got this little satisfaction 🙂
Spa & Centro Benessere
The wellness area is immediately adjacent to the hotel: treatments, a wide garden, an outdoor pool, a lakeside spa and infinite relaxation await you.
Thanks to Mara, the Spa Manager, I’ve been able to experience for the first time a beautiful massage with warm herbal pads, detoxifying and purifying. One of the best massages I have ever received!
All the furniture is modern and elegantly designed. It’s really evident that the hotel has been recently renovated.
Sauna e Biosauna con vista sul lago
Among the many magical moments spent at the Seehof, there is one that I remember with particular nostalgia: outside it was raining softly, you could see the drops that fell on the lake and we, peacefully sitting in the bio sauna, were listening to the Tibetan bells played by the Aufgussmeister (Master of Aufguss) Romina.
The day at the Seehof begins with breakfast at Borgo Of Flavors, designed as a market square, where you have the opportunity to interact with other guests.
Multiple snacks are provided during the day and it’s also possible to eat in a bathrobe during the day.
Lunch is served with a light but complete and tasty buffet, but dinner is what has left us speechless.
Unfortunately you won’t find many photos of dishes here because we were too busy eating all the delicacies of the hotel, one above all these delicious canederli, typical dumplings made in South Tyrol.
Believe me, if you are in South Tyrol close to Bressanone you don’t want to miss this restaurant! We were seriously speechless. Dish after dish the Seehof staff kept amazing and delighting us.
In a word: mind-blowing. Compliments!
Very important note: the portions were PERFECT. We were able to taste everything without ever feeling uncomfortably full.
I dintorni: Bressanone e le Alpi
Seehof Nature Retreat offers plenty of opportunities to join outdoor activities and exercise in South Tyrol. Many trekking and biking routes start directly from the hotel.
Romina, the super funny nice Master of Aufguss, took us for a walk along “the Apple path” to admire the mountains and crops in the surrounding areas. He also explained that the Seehof organizes and for its guests excursions in South Tyrol of different levels of lengths and difficulties.
Very close to the hotel is also Bressanone, little but “precious”, with wine bars, small shops, a beautiful cathedral and its own particular vibe. You can walk to town and comfortablyget back by bus.
I must mention the Augustinian Abbey of Novacella, a real gem located a few kilometers away.
La nostra camera con vista sul lago e sui frutteti
Last but not least, our beautiful room, designed with hexagonal Marazzi ceramics with a modern but very welcoming style. I really appreciated the refinement of the spaces, and how not to notice the fragrance of apples and lemon that characterizes the environment!
The view on the lake and the pinewood is something unique and unforgettable. Waking up in the morning with this vision and resting on the balcony in the afternoon was simply amazing. I really needed this moment of “relax with a view.”
I would like to thank Tamaris, Andreas, Romina and Mara again for the beautiful stay. It was a pleasure to photograph your beautiful structure and I can not wait to go back to the Seehof! Among the hotels near Bressanone is definitely a structure that knows how distinguish itself.
